Dr. GS Kalra did his MD in Medicine (1982), DM in Cardiology (1985) from AIIMS, New Delhi, followed by a Fellowship from University of Birmingham, Alabama, USA. During his illustrious career, he has to his credit more than 15,000 complex coronary angioplasties. He is at present doing all coronary procedures through radial route. He has done about 40,000 interventional procedures. He is a pioneer in starting primary angioplasty in Punjab, and has performed maximum number of primary angioplasty in this region with minimum Door to Balloon time which is better than any Cardiac Centre, not only in India but anywhere in the world. Dr. Kalra is extremely experienced in paediatric cardiological interventions, and has innovated many procedures like several closure devices. An internationally recognized Cardiologist, Dr. Kalra is the Convener of the Cardiac Registry of India.
