How To Do A Cpr Procedure?
THE TIME YOU TAKE TO READ THIS IS ALL THE TIME YOU NEED TO SAVE A LIFE.
WHAT IS CPR?
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or CPR is an emergency procedure used to manually restore circulation and breathing In a person who is under cardiac arrest . When performed correctly and on time, it doubles the chance of survival.
HOW CPR HELPS:
CPR restores blood circulation in the victim when his/her heart has stopped functioning. This allows adequate supply of blood and oxygen to the vital organs, keeping the victim alive till professional help arrives. It could be a passerby, or it could be your own loved one. But with just a set of simple, easy-to-learn techniques, you will always be prepared to be a Heart saver and prevent an emergency from turning into a Fatality.
1. CALL
Check the victim for unresponsiveness. If the person is not responsive and not breathing or not breathing normally, call an ambulance and return to the victim. To check for no further danger to the victim, place him/her in a safe place.
2. PUMP
If the victim is still not breathing normally or his coughing or moving, begin chest compressions. Placing one palm on the centre position between the nipples and the other palm on the top of the first palm Interlocking it. alternatively you could also hold the wrist of the first hand. Now push down vertically giving compressions that depress at-least to a depth of 1.5 to 2 inches, 30 times. Pump hard and fast (more than once per second).
3. BLOW
Tilt the head back and lift the chin. Close the nose airway by pinching the nose at the tip blocking both the nostrils and blow into the mouth until you see the chest rise. Give 2 breaths. Each breath should take 1 second.
Cardiac arrest can strike anybody at any time. It is triggered by an electrical malfunction in the heart where the heart cannot pump blood to the brain, lungs and other organs. Seconds later a person loses consciousness and has no pulse. Death occurs within minutes If the victim do not receive treatment. On the other hand, a few simple steps is all it takes to resuscitate a victim of cardiac arrest and save their life.
