Dr. Gargi Maitra is Senior Consultant in the department of Pulmonology, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. She has completed her MBBS from North Bengal Medical College, West Bengal with a Gold Medal in MBBS. She did her Post Graduation in Respiratory Medicine from Govt. Medical College, Amritsar in 2011, followed by super- speciality training in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM) from PGI, Rohtak. She is an ELSO certified ECMO trained specialist as well. She is trained in Intervention Pulmonology and rigid Bronchoscopy from Mahidol University, Thailand. She is trained in various advanced Pulmonary Interventions including EBUS- TBNA, Cryobiopsies, APC, Stent Placement, Electrocautery, Medical Thoracoscopy, Management of pleural diseases (like hydropneumothorax, simple or recurrent pneumothorax, pleurodesia), management of haemoptysis, treatment of airway obstructions, early diagnosis of lung cancers and staging of lung cancers, management of tumour related pulmonary complications. She manages all types of respiratory diseases, both acute and chronic, including critically ill patients on ventilators. She is actively involved in regularly conducting and organizing various CMEs, workshops and conferences at national level. She has several publications in National and International Journals; has been a co-author in several chapters and is a co-editor of a book on Bronchoscopy in ICU. She has post MD experience of 13+ years to her credit in the field of Pulmonology, Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Interventions and Sleep Medicines.
