Dr. Saikat Bandopadhyay is currently working as a Senior Consultant, Cardiac Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist. He is responsible for providing anaesthetic care ( and taking care of patients in a busy Intensive Care Unit ) for the entire spectrum of cardiac surgery, including paediatrics : ASD, VSD, TOF etc and adults including CABG (both off and on pump ), Valve surgeries ( Repairs and Replacements ), Adult congenital surgery including ASD, VSD, Ebstein Anomaly etc. He independently performs intra-operative transesopheageal echocardiography in all patients (including paediatrics) undergoing cardiac surgery, which has a very crucial role in day to day surgical decision making. He has cleared the Advanced PT EXAM ( Periopertative Transesophageal Echocardiography Examination ) conducted by the NBE ( National Board of Echocardiography, USA ) in July 2014. He is also actively involved in teaching Residents, Fellows and Nurses.
