Her areas of special interest include adolescent hormonal issues such as PCOD, pre-pregnancy counselling, low and high-risk pregnancy, conservative and laparoscopic management of common gynaecological conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis and fibroids. Dr Uma has published research articles in gazetted national journals and co-authored chapters related to her areas of expertise in several postgraduate textbooks for obstetrics and gynaecology and holds a specialization certification for Menopause. She is also a peer reviewer for the British Medical Journal case reports.
