Dr. (Prof.) Vivek Gupta is an Interventional Neuroradiologist of national and international repute. He has over 16 years of rich experience in this highly challenging speciality. He is MD in Radiology and has done DM in 'Neuroimaging and Interventional Neuroradiology' from PGI, Chandigarh. He has 20 years experience in the field of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging. He was a faculty member for 15 years and was a Professor and In-charge of Neuro-intervention programme at PGI Chandigarh. He has pioneered many new imaging methods and interventional techniques for the benefit of stroke patients. He started the ‘Mechanical Thrombectomy’ technique for stroke patients at PGI, and several doctors have trained under him for this procedure. He has pioneered research work in the field of use of intra-arterial stem cells for stroke patients. He has a rich teaching experience and many of his students are practicing successfully in India and abroad. He has 90 research publications to his credit both in highly acclaimed international and national journals. He has also published 12 book chapters. He is an invited speaker and faculty in national and international forums/conferences and has delivered more than 150 lectures till date.
