Fortis Escorts Heart Institute extends clinical excellence and expertise over free cardiac camp for the citizens of Panna

Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (FEHI), in its initiative to take clinical excellence to the doorstep in smaller towns and cities, a free cardiac screening camp is being organizing for the citizens of Panna, Madhya Pradesh at the Government Civil Hospital. This two day camp will commence on 19th March, 2016 until 20th March, 2016.

Every patient, who will attend this Cardiac camp, will receive a free and basic screening of heart to assess the condition of their heart. With the growing menace of non-communicable disease emanating from unhealthy lifestyle, the heart is at risk. Rheumatic Fever affects younger population of children and adolescents with vulnerable immune systems. It is notably prevalent in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) affects person in the age group of 25-35 years.

Rheumatic fever is an inflammatory disease that comes with symptoms of fever, joint pains, throat infection and an uncommon, non-itchy rash. The disease typically develops almost three to four weeks after the first symptoms show up and is known to involve the heart, joints, throat, brain and skin. More than half the cases involve the heart which is undetected until the manifestation in Rheumatic Heart Disease at a later age.
