Fortis Escorts Heart Institute extends its expertise and skills to mega camp at Shahdol

Fortis Escorts Heart Institute extended its clinical excellence, skills and expertise of its top level consultants in cardiac sciences in a mega camp at Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh on 13th and 17th February, 2016. The team was led by Dr. Yugal Mishra, Director Cardiac Surgery, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute.

The mega camp at Shahdol is a repeat event after the success achieved through a similar event conducted two years ago at Chindwada and four years ago at Mandla near Jabalpur. The event had been attended by several top players in healthcare and it is expected to be repeated again in the camp organised this year.

The camp is sponsored by the Madhya Pradesh Government, Rahat Foundation and Rotary Club of Shahdol and will witness the participation of several other hospitals. There will be tests extended free of cost to patients and patients will come with pre-determined treatment solutions based on the medical condition faced by them. The patients are a part of the data screened at seven districts prior to their attendance at the camp.

Shahdol and the nearby area is known as tribal area in Madhya Pradesh and a majority of youngsters are suffering from very severe Rheumatic Heart Disease. There are many patients who are also suffering from hypothyroidism and sickle cell anemia. There are recurrent episodes of RHD and there are no facilities around Shahdol that offer appropriate treatment solutions to needy patients.
