Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (FEHI) organized a health talk by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr T S Kler, Executive Director, Cardiac Sciences, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute along with a free cardiac camp in partnership with New Friends Colony Resident Welfare Association from 10 AM to 5 PM this Sunday at the Block D of the New Friends Colony.
The health talk delivered by Dr. Kler focussed on the rise of heart diseases in India today. He also raised awareness on how cardio-vascular diseases have risen ten times among younger people over the last few decades. He threw light on the major causes like pollution that consequently leads to thickening of the arteries, making them narrower and affecting blood supply. He also spoke about other factors like unhealthy lifestyles, stress and genetic factors that further aggravate heart problems. Dr. Kler advised adopting effective preventive methods and timely check-ups as key to reducing heart related problems to a significant level.
Free Services offered at the camp for the residents included Height, Weight, BMI check, Random Blood Sugar (RBS), BP, ECG, Free Echo at FEHI for those patients referred by the Doctor and free cardiac consultation by resident doctors.
