Fortis Hospital, Mulund, Mumbai Jul 16, 2010

Fortis Hospital, Mulund, celebrated World Smile Day today by putting together a special event for the patients and staff. The hospital decided to put a smile on everyone’s faces with an entertaining stand-up comedy act by Amit Tandon. This event is very much in sync with Fortis Hospital Mulund’s various initiatives that make it a hospital with a difference.

Over the two hour comedy act, Amit Tandon enthralled an audience that was allowed to momentarily forget their pain and illness and laugh wholeheartedly. Amit, known as ‘The Married Guy’ in the stand up comedy circuit, also kept the show interactive allowing members of the audience to participate and take potshots back at him.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr S Narayani, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital, Mulund, said, “We at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, always strive to make our patients as comfortable and happy as possible irrespective of their situation. This stand-up comedy act was a step in that direction. We also wanted to put a smile on the faces of our staff who work tirelessly to care for the patients.”

With more than 700 shows across three continents, Amit Tandon is one of the most acclaimed observational comics in India. His humour about relationships, Indian middle class and life experiences in general connects with all kinds of audiences.
