Fortis Hospital nurses share a laugh at Prabh Aasra

Fortis Hospital, Mohali May 11, 2016

The nurses of Fortis Hospital, Mohali celebrated ‘Nurses Week’ visited the premises of Prabh Aasra Trust, ‘a home for helpless’ at Kurali. The nurses taught the residents basic yoga, meditation and laughter therapy. Goodies were distributed to the children and organized fun activities like a poster-making competition. International Nurses’ Day is celebrated each year on May 12. The activity was planned in alignment to this year’s theme of improving health with resilience. The theme for this year’s Nurses’ day is ‘Nurses: A Force for Change – Improving Health Systems’ Resilience’.

On the occasion, Capt Neelam Deshwal, Regional Chief Nursing Officer, Fortis Hospital Mohali, said, “Nursing is one of the noblest profession in the world. It’s a profession that teaches to give selflessly, untiringly, and unconditionally, and most of all, caringly. We have come to Prabh Aasra Trust with the same zeal and enthusiasm. Our Nurses’ Week celebrations would have been incomplete without this visit.” The team also gave a health talk on basic hygiene and wellness. The session on laughter therapy got everyone excited as they practiced it with full gusto. Laughter reverberated from every corner of the Trust premises, as children and elderly alike led by Fortis nurses laughed out loud, getting thoroughly entertained in the process.
