Fortis Hospital, Vashi Organizes Multi-Specialty Health Check-up Camp for Taloja Jail Inmates and Staff
In its continuous endeavour to enrich all sections of the society, Fortis Hospital, Vashi, organized a multi-specialty heath camp at Taloja Jail, Kharghar, for prisoners and the jail staff. More than 200 prisoners took the opportunity to get some critical health check-ups done and received general consultation from a team of doctors.
The screening camp conducted at Taloja Jail premises, included a number of health check-ups:
- Body Mass Index (BMI)
- Blood Pressure (BP)
- Random Blood Sugar (RBS)
- Ophthalmology screening
- General Physician consultation
This check-up covered most common health concerns and the prisoners & prison staff took keen interest in getting the screening done and interacted with the physicians, taking advise on different issues related to health and wellness.
Mr. Shamkant Shedge, Jail Administrator at Taloja Jail, Khargahar, said, “We are pleased to have conducted health check-ups for the prisoners who also have a right to better health. We believe that the concern for better health should encourage them to take better care of themselves. Even our staff, who perform their duties amid difficult working conditions, were happy to get advice on health and well-being from Fortis’ Physicians.
