It is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community. On National Cancer Survivors Day, people around the world will unite to recognize cancer survivors, raise awareness of the ongoing challenges cancer survivors face, and most importantly, celebrate life.
Therefore, National Cancer Survivors Day is for everyone, whether you’re a cancer survivor, a family member, friend, or medical professional. This day provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer, to connect with each other, celebrate milestones achieved, and give recognition to all those who have supported them along this difficult period. It is also a day to draw thoughtfulness to the ongoing challenges of cancer survivorship in order to promote more funds, research, and survivor-friendly legislation to improve cancer survivors’ quality of life.
As per GLOBOCAN (WHO data) in 2020, 13,24,413 new cases of cancer was diagnosed in India, most common being Breast, Lip, oral cavity, Cervix uteri, Lung and Colorectal cancers.
