Preventive Oncology Awareness Exhibition Organized by Fortis Institute of Nursing, Mulund

A day-long exhibition themed ‘Preventive Oncology’ was hosted by the students of Fortis Institute of Nursing, Mulund, today. The students put up 42 participatory exhibits comprising of innovative models, posters highlighting statistics and incidences of Cancer in India; its causes, pathophysiology, early warning signs, types of the disease and its prevention. The exhibit also constituted of a diet counter where whole fruits and recipes useful in the prevention of cancer, were displayed. The concept was further drawn focus towards, through a skit. Cancer assessment was done for all and Pap Smear Test for menopausal women who attended the exhibition.

Inaugurated by Dr Hiren Ambegaokar, Regional Medical Director & Ms Roselind Mathew, Regional Nursing Head, Fortis Healthcare along with Dr Boman Dhabar, Consultant Oncologist & Dr Prashant Pawar, consultant Onco-surgeon, Fortis Hospital, Mulund; the exhibits were indeed eye-opening for the young audiences. With an endeavor to promote scientific attitude among young students, this exhibition was one of its kind and witnessed participation from students and teachers from peripheral schools across Thane and Mulund.
