Jaipur, June 07, 2022: On the occasion of World Brain Tumour Day, celebrated every year on the 8th of June, Fortis Escorts Hospital Jaipur inaugurated the latest state-of-the-art neurosurgical microscope with the 4K technique. The inauguration was done today in the gracious presence of Professor S.R. Dharkar, Ex-Principal and Controller, SMS Medical College along with the team of eminent Neurosurgeons at Fortis Jaipur – Dr Hemant Bhartiya, Director; Dr Vivek Vaid, Additional Director; Dr Sankalp Bhartiya, Consultant; Dr Akshay Mangal, Associate Consultant, Dr Mala Airun, Director, Medical Operations and Mr Neerav Bansal, Zonal Director.

 

This neurosurgical microscope with the 4K technique is now available only at Fortis Escorts Hospital Jaipur in the entire Rajasthan. This latest advancement in neurosurgical OT enables better visualisation of tumour and also has unique added advantages of intra operative fluorescence dye for tumour surgeries and unique Qevo endoscope attached with the microscope to visualise in areas not easily accessible in narrow corridors of surgery.

 

Fortis Jaipur has become the only hospital in Rajasthan where even the most complex brain surgeries are being done with this technology. “With the readily available imaging centres and advancement in imaging, the diagnosis of brain tumour has become easier and has tremendously helped in planning treatment with best possible outcomes,” said Dr Hemant Bhartiya, Director, Department of Neurosurgery.

With these latest additions in technology, the surgical outcome in children has tremendously improved and neurosurgery for brain tumours in children is no longer considered as an impossible task.”
