An information session on 'Heart Diseases- Prevention & Management' by Dr Himanshu Gupta
An informative session on Heart Diseases- Prevention & Management was held at CRPF Campus Ajmer for CRPF personnel and their families. Dr Himanshu Gupta, Associate Consultant - Cardiology, interacted with a gathering of over 100 participants.
Dr Gupta shared his valuable insights regarding heart diseases, risk factors associated with this disease and its preventive methods. He attributed bad lifestyle to high incidence and risk of developing Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) in India. He further added that high blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels, smoking, inadequate intake of fruit and vegetables, obesity and physical inactivity are the risk factors for heart disease. Stress is also a cause of concern, he added. He explained the importance of healthy and balanced lifestyles through a number of statistics and examples and also urged the audience to go for annual cardiac check-ups.
